Sydney based R20 Sonic crews have been on a 13 week tour which included quarantine, 4 states, 4 projects and a total of 6400km mobilization. Project requirements included 150mm production bores, Environmental monitoring wells, and Vibrating Wire Piezometers for a Geotechnical client. The rig completed projects in Queensland, South Australia, Northern Territory and New south wales.

Despite its small stature the Geo 205 is still capable of HQ coring to 30m quite comfortably and it automatic SPT hammer ensures safe operation. The tight squeeze is assisted but fully remote control operation allowing the driller to keep well out of harm’s way.

The bore shall be constructed by a suitably qualified driller who possess the appropriate experience and the relevant class of licence that the state or territory deem necessary. An appropriately licenced driller shall be on site at all times during bore construction and decommissioning activities.”

At this point, 20+ years into the development of direct sensing technology there have been a multitude of arguments presented touting the technical and financial advantages of High-Resolution Site Characterisation (HRSC) using Membrane Interface Probe (MIP), Ultra-Violet Optical Screening Tool (UVOST) and Hydraulic Profiling Tool (HPT). 

To better service north QLD clients we now have a Geoprobe 7822Dt operating from a satellite base in Cairns Australia.

This short video is a small window into what kinds of drilling projects are going on at Numac on any given day. As a tier 1 drilling contractor we can provide high quality drilling services including Sonic, remote access diamond coring, geotechnical, overwater and contaminated land investigations with Geoprobe machines.

This is what a Geoprobe 6620 looks like stripped down to its component parts. Our fitters have recently commenced a complete overhaul and upgrade of “R1” our Geoprobe track mounted drilling rig.

Numac has over 10 years experience in chemical injection for the purpose of in-situ chemical oxidation/reduction (ISCO/R). This system seen in this video is the result of 10 years of deveopment and continual improvement of the process.

This highly capable truck mounted geotechnical rig was commissioned in late January 2018. It's immediately proving a big hit with our clients combining great mobility and speed of operation.  

Numac recently completed a mineral exploration drilling program with a sonic rig in unconsolidated formations for Nickel Laterite.

Our new Volvo FH13 540 Prime Mover looking smart in the her new skin. With the large distances we move rigs each year it is certainly nice to know that have reliable, safe and comfortable equipment making these long road-trips comfortable fro the drill crews.

One of the highlights of 2017 was being involved in the Sydney Metro Geotechnical investigation in Sydney Harbour. Numac was presented with an opportunity to use one of our Sonic drill rigs from an overwater in close proximity to the Harbour Bridge.
