Legion Drilling will be at AusIMM Mine Waste and Tailings Conference 2025
Legion Drilling will be exhibiting and learning at AusIMM’s Life of Mine / Mine Waste & Tailings Conference, which will be held in Brisbane on 29-30 July 2025. We will be showcasing our capabilities for geotechnical and tailings investigations, including 6x sonic drilling rigs, diamond coring rigs with triple tube core barrels, in-situ testing technologies like Cone Penetration Testing (CPT), Seimic CPTu, DMT and electrical vane shear testing, and sampling systems such as piston samplers, mini-block samplers, continuous push tubing methods and discrete groundwater samplers not requiring permanent installation and avoiding the creation of waste.
Legion has highly experienced crews onboarded at the strictest mine sites (BMA, Glencore, QAL, Rio Tinto, Whitehaven…) with supervisors assigned to each project to ensure the highest quality and safety standards. Our drilling rigs are routinely present at mine sites in the Bowen Basin, Weipa, Hunter Valley, the NT and many more, from gold to uranium, coal, bauxite residue and so on. We have drilling rigs mobilising from depots in Brisbane, Townsville, Sydney, and Albury-Wodonga.
Our rigs can safely access tailings storage facilities (TSFs) due to their high stability and minimal ground pressure, which can be further decreased by using track mats under these tracked, small-footprint machines. We can access where others can’t, including traversing down dam embankments to investigate locations at the toe when there are no tracks or roads.
We are looking forward to attending this event to connect with leading experts and practitioners in mine waste and tailings investigations, share experiences and knowledge, and keep improving our capabilities to better service the Australian mining industry. If you are attending, pass by our exhibition booth and say hi. Happy to connect.
